Indigenas Mexicanos en el Norte

Mazewalli Nation is an organization located in the State of New Mexico. Our members represent the Mesoamerican diaspora that resulted from Spanish colonization efforts, and whose ancestors settled in New Mexico and Southern Colorado. We declare our right to be recognized as indigenous people, and assert our identities as such.

As descendants of Mesoamerican settlers, we hold no claim to ancestral lands within the state of New Mexico, and respects the absolute sovereignty and self-determination of New Mexico’s original indigenous people. However, efforts can be undertaken to establish a land base via the purchase of available land. Also, Mazewalli Nation holds an ancestral and historic connection to the Barrio of Analco in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the settlement of Atrisco in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We ask that this historical connection be recognized by the State of New Mexico.
